Comparing Water Filters. Essential To Do Before You Buy.
There are so many people how who are concerned about the purity of the water they drink.
There are now so many contaminants found in our water unfortunately. You can find chlorine, lead, drugs and way more in our municipal water that you , (but not me) drink daily. So for many people a good water purification system is a must. And there's so many different types of water filter to choose from.
So you really need to do a solid water filter comparison before you buy. Here's a few tips on choosing the water filter that will best suit your needs and keep you from drinking contaminated water.
Carbon water filters are about the most effective water filters. They trap contaminants as they travel over a charcoal filter medium, and remove them from the water. And carbon water filters are quite cost competitive.
When you compare water filters, its a good idea to take carbon water filters into consideration.
Reverse osmosis filters are also popular. They have a membrane with very small holes in it and the water has to pass through. Anything too small to pass through gets trapped and removed, but not everything that you want to remove is trapped. There are some contaminants that will still pass through. And reverse osmosis filters are also very slow.
There are also various sizes of water filter and when doing your search for the best water filter you need to consider your needs. Whole house water filters, for example, do exactly what they say. Filter the water for the entire house. Perfect except for the fact that they are more expensive than, say, a simple drinking water filter. Great if you can afford one.
You can also distill water to purify it that way. Water distillation is not a recommended form of water filtration. Certainly it removes impurities but it has it's disadvantages as well. It removes minerals (and everything else) from the water and your body actually needs various minerals found in water, so this can actually be a disadvantage to your health.
So as you can see you have a very wide range of choices when it comes to choosing a water filter. They range in price quite substantially and work quite differently in many cases.
When I talk to people about water filters they often get confused by the technical aspects of how they work. What is really the only important thing to know is which is the best water filter.
2 stage activated carbon water filters are the best water filters you can get. A simple carbon water filter doesn't remove everything, so a second stage of filtration is added to take out what the carbon filter misses.
And surprisingly these 2 stage activated carbon water filters are very cost competitive as well, which is always a nice surprise.
I write all about 2 stage water filters featuring activated carbon at my website.
Peter has a website all about Water Filtration and also mentors people to produce their own personal websites, an example being http://jennyjason.com/
